DEPARTMENT OF MECHATRONICS

The department of Mechatronics was started in the year 2011 to impart quality education in this field. Mechatronics is the synergistic combination of precision mechanical engineering, electronic control and systems thinking in the design of products and manufacturing processes. All the modern products operate on the basis of Mechatronics Engineering and the branch has great scope in future. The mission of the department is to create globally competent Engineers to solve the problems in this field and the vision is to acquire a premier position.

We, Mechatronics Engineering Department of Paavai Engineering College be a centre of excellence for development and dissemination of knowledge in the field Robotics and automation research, postgraduate teaching and innovative product development for the Nation apart from this we produce the most competent Scientists, Engineers, Entrepreneurs, Managers and Researchers through Quality Education.

Association Activities
  • To prove the efficacy of the learners, Symposia are being organized every year in which students from various colleges participate and benefit themselves
  • The department association is functioning efficiently for the benefit of the students. At least one guest lecture by an experienced personality is being conducted every month focusing on recent inventions and developments in the field. The guest lecture will be carried out in an interactive manner so as to clarify the doubts of the students.
  • In addition to regular curricular activities, the SCADA, PLC, Automation training programs are also provided to enhance the students with varied skill sets required by the industries
Major Achievements
  • Mr. P.Nandagopal awarded as IIIrd prize in HEXAPOD WALKER event at the National Round of Indo-US Robo League -2015 conducted by Technophilia systems and Robotics and Computer Applications Institute of USA held at IIT, Bombay in 2015.
  • K.Yuvaraj, III Year Mechatronics student has been appointed as “Regional Co-Ordinator (Salem Division)” to create awareness among the government schools students in March 2015.
  • M.Jegan and K.S.Anushya from II Year Mechatronics has got “CERTIFICATE OF ACHIEVEMENT” on completing the submission of their project ideas in the “Fifth annual Go Green in the City” organized by Schneider Electric SE, France which to be held at Paris on June 2015.
  • Srivathsan H and Nandagopal P got the Best Project Award in Indo- US Robo League held in IIT, Bombay in 2013-2014.
  • A two days workshop on “3D Printing / Rapid Prototyping” was organized in associations with NAFEMS INDIA Bangalore on March 2015.
  • A one day National Level Technical Symposium “TETSURONICS 2015”was organized on March 2015.
