A Five Day Induction Programme for the recently recruited faculty members of Paavai

The Faculty Development Department organised a Five Day Induction Programme from 30.06.2026 to 04.07.2026 for the recently recruited faculty members to make them familiar with the institutional practices and the instructional strategies of teaching and learning, because teachers are considered to be the pillars of Paavai. The inaugural ceremony was held at Smart Hall on 30.06.2026.  The programme started by invoking God’s bountiful blessings with the prayer song, followed by lighting of the kuthuvilakku. Shri. CA N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Educational Institutions, delivered the Inaugural Address in which he highlighted that the culture of the organisation plays a vital role in shaping the values and behaviour of its members. Sir emphasised on the importance of care, discipline, and a supportive learning environment. Sir further added that teachers and students are equal partners in the Paavai classroom. Sir made us to understand the importance of pedagogy, communication, and narrative skills in effective teaching. Correspondent Madam emphasised that an effective teacher should understand students’ psychology, foster meaningful learning, and uphold the values and culture of Paavai. Madam motivated the faculty members to embrace the teaching profession with passion, and strive to become inspiring educators. Dr.J.Murshitha Banu, Head, FDD, PEC welcomed the gathering. The objectives and methodology of the induction programme were spelled out by S.Priyetharsine, FDD, PEC. 38 faculty members from Paavai Educational Institutions attended the Induction Programme.

After the inauguration, the formal sessions commenced. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan Chairman, Paavai Educational Institutions, Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Administration, Paavai Educational Institutions , Dr.R.R.Krishnamurthy, Director Centre for Research, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, PEC, Dr.N.Ezhili, Research Coordinator, PEC,  Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, PEC, Mrs.Kamala Krishnamurthy, Center Head, PIF, Dr.K.Sundaramurthy, Head, IQAC, PEC, Dr.B.Murali Babu, CoE, PEC, Dr.J.Murshitha Banu Professor and Head, FDD, Dr.P.S.Senthilkumar, Head, Placement and Training, and Dr.D.Banumathy, HoD/CSE were the resource speakers for the programme who presented pertinent topics such as, ‘Paavai on the Path of Progress’, ‘Administrative Guidelines of Paavai’ ‘Building a Vibrant Research Culture – Projects, Publications and Collaboration’ , ‘Beyond Curriculum’, ‘Navigating Outcome based Education – A Roadmap for Excellence’,  ‘Paavai Culture’, ‘NotebookLM’, ‘Be Fluent’ ‘Placements in Paavai’ , ‘Significance of IQAC’, ‘Examination System’,  and ‘Hands on with MOODLE’.

Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of   Paavai Educational Institutions conducted the session on the topic entitled “Paavai on the Path of Progress”. The session commenced with an illuminating overview of the illustrious journey of Paavai Educational Institutions since inception. Sir eloquently narrated the institution’s remarkable ascent, attributing its growth to the unwavering dedication, relentless perseverance, and synergistic efforts of all stakeholders involved. He emphasised that the faculty of Paavai must embody the highest ideals of professional and moral excellence thereby exemplifying qualities such as unflinching commitment, profound empathy, expansive knowledge, and genuine care. Sir also articulated a visionary aspiration for the students to evolve into paragons of modern India, firmly anchored in the nation’s timeless cultural heritage.

Dr. K.K. Ramasamy, Director of Administration in his session on “Administrative Guidelines of Paavai,” enumerated the administrative policies, responsibilities, communication procedures, and institutional work culture. He also explained the importance of safe accommodation, discipline, cleanliness, and proper facilities for students residing in the campus hostel. He emphasised that the administrative staff should monitor student welfare, maintain attendance records, and address grievances to ensure a comfortable living environment. Dr. R.R. Krishnamurthy, Director of the Centre for Research, spoke on the topic “Building a Vibrant Research Culture.” He focused on promoting innovation, research ethics, and academic excellence among faculty members. He highlighted the importance of publishing quality research papers, filing patents, and undertaking funded research projects. He also encouraged faculty members to participate in interdisciplinary research and collaborate with industries and research organisations.

Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, PEC spoke on the topic “Beyond Curriculum.” He highlighted the institution’s achievements in industry collaborations, internships, global certifications, entrepreneurship activities, sports and community outreach programs. He also emphasised on the active involvement of students and faculty in research, startups, and skill development initiatives. Furthermore, he provided valuable insights on the importance of holistic development and experiential learning beyond academics. Dr.N.Ezhili, Research Coordinator, PEC through her topic ‘Navigating Outcome based Education – A Roadmap for Excellence’ highlighted the need for holistic learning, digital literacy, and skill development to meet modern educational demands. She shined light on the alignment of course outcomes, programme outcomes, teaching methodologies, and assessment practices for effective and student-centric learning.

Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, PEC, elaborated on the profound significance of Paavai Culture, emphasising its role in shaping disciplined and value-driven individuals. She highlighted the essence of the Paavai Mantra, which instils confidence, positivity, and a sense of purpose in both faculty and students. She also shed light on the core Paavai beliefs, rooted in traditions and holistic development. Her address underscored how these principles collectively enhance academic excellence and personal growth. Mrs.Kamala Krishnamurthy, Head, PIF, conducted a hands-on training on the efficient usage of the AI tool powered research and note-taking tool NotebookLM. She encapsulated its features such as generating summaries, study guides, FAQs, and citation-based content from uploaded academic resources. She also highlighted the role of NotebookLM in collaborative research, literature reviews, and academic writing. The session emphasised the effective use of AI tools both for faculty and student progress.

Dr. K. Sundaramurthy, Head of Internal Quality Assurance Cell/PEC, highlighted the importance of IQAC in promoting excellence in teaching, learning, research, and administration, while supporting faculty members through professional development programmes, innovative teaching practices, and research initiatives. Dr. B.MuraliBabu, CoE, elaborated on the critical importance of the Examination System during the faculty induction programme. He explained the rules and regulations of Paavai and clearly enumerated the procedures and guidelines related to the examination system for the faculty members. Dr. J. Murshitha Banu, Professor and Head of FDD, spoke on the topic “Be Fluent,” which highlighted the importance of communication skills and micro teaching in higher education. The session emphasised that effective communication improves teaching quality and student interaction. Micro teaching helped faculty members enhance confidence, clarity, and classroom delivery skills through practice and feedback. The session also focused on improving communication and presentation techniques. Faculty members learned effective teaching methods such as questioning, explanation, reinforcement, and summarisation.

Dr.P.S.Senthilkumar, Head, Placement and Training spoke on the title ‘Placements in Paavai’. He explained that Paavai has demonstrated a strong commitment to placements, fostering a robust industry-academia connection that benefits its students. The college’s placement efforts are a testament to its dedication to student success and career advancement. Dr. D. Banumathy, Head of the Department of CSE, conducted a workshop on the title “Hands-on MOODLE.” The session provided practical training on the use of the MOODLE Learning Management System for academic activities. Faculty members were introduced to course creation, uploading study materials, conducting quizzes, and managing assignments through the platform. The session also highlighted the importance of digital learning tools in enhancing teaching and student engagement.

Each resource person engaged in immersive and interactive sessions with active participation from the faculty members. Twelve topics were covered during the sessions. Faculty members presented model lessons based on their teaching units, and constructive feedback was given to refine their teaching skills. The program was tailored to meet the needs of the inductees, with the Faculty Development Department offering continued support to help them acclimatise to the Paavai environment. The Valedictory Function took place on 04.06.2026 at 02:00 pm in Smart Hall. Faculty members recorded their feedback, marking the successful conclusion of the induction program.
