The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering organized an Alumni Guest Lecture on 22.08.2026 at Kalam’s Chamber.The session was delivered by Mr.Mohanraaj.S, Sales Support Engineer at Hitachi Energy, who belongs to the batch 2019-2023 of the EEE department.
The objective of the function “Career Beyond the Degree” is to provide students with practical insights into career opportunities and professional growth beyond their academic degree. The session aims to help students understand current industry expectations, identify the skills required for employment, explore various career pathways in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering field, and learn from the professional experiences of an alumnus. It also intends to motivate students to develop technical, communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, pursue continuous learning, and confidently prepare themselves for successful careers in industry and higher studies.
Varsha, III Year EEE, introduced the resource person, Mr. Mohanraaj S, Tendering and Sales Support Engineer, Hitachi Energy, Chennai. In his address, he shared his professional experiences and highlighted the importance of developing technical skills, communication, problem-solving abilities, adaptability, teamwork, and professional attitude beyond an engineering degree. He discussed the significance of internships, projects, certifications, industrial exposure, interview preparation, and continuous skill development. He also provided insights into tendering and sales support activities and their application in the energy sector.
The interactive session helped students understand industry expectations and career opportunities for EEE graduates. The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks by R. Sahana, III Year EEE. Overall, the guest lecture was informative and motivating, encouraging students to develop industry-relevant skills and prepare confidently for their professional careers.
A total of 150 participants attended the event, including 145 students and 5 faculty members.
