The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Paavai Engineering College, organized an Alumni Guest Lecture on the topic “Emerging Career Opportunities in Core, IT and Global Sectors” for the benefit of the students on 26.03.2026.
The session was delivered by alumni Mr. Nivesh Prakash, B.E., MBA, Senior Manager, Customer Success Service, Oracle, Bangalore, India. The guest speaker shared valuable insights on the wide range of career opportunities available for engineering students in core industries, IT companies, and global sectors.
During the session, the speaker explained the importance of strengthening core technical knowledge along with developing programming skills, communication ability, problem-solving skills, adaptability, and industry certifications. He highlighted career opportunities in areas such as power systems, renewable energy, automation, electric vehicles, embedded systems, software development, cloud computing, data analytics, customer success, and enterprise solutions.He also emphasized the significance of internships, projects, resume building, aptitude preparation, interview skills, and professional networking for improving employability. The speaker motivated students to explore both core and IT domains, while also preparing for higher studies and global career opportunities.
The session was highly interactive, and students actively participated by raising questions related to career planning, skill development, placement preparation, and opportunities abroad. The guest speaker addressed their queries with practical guidance and real-time industry examples.Overall, the guest lecture was highly informative and beneficial. It helped students gain a clear understanding of the emerging career paths in core, IT, and global sectors and inspired them to prepare effectively for their future careers.
A total of 90 students attended and benefited from the programme. The guest lecture was organized under the leadership of Dr. G. Balaji, Professor and Head of the Department, and coordinated by Dr.T.Nandagopal. The event began with a welcome address by Ms. .Parameshwari, III Year EEE, and concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms.Kusuma, III Year EEE.
