Awareness program on “How to Crack top product companies using Google Technologies”

The Department of Information Technology successfully organized an awareness program titled “How to Crack Top Product Companies Using Google Technologies?” in association with the Google Developer Group on Campus (GDGoC) on 4 July 2026 at Kalam’s Chamber.

The objective of the session was to equip students with the knowledge, skills, and strategies required to build successful careers in leading product-based companies.

The program commenced with the welcome address delivered by Ms. R. Yogapriya, a final-year Information Technology student.

The presidential address was delivered by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. He encouraged the students to actively participate in technical activities and continuously enhance their knowledge and skills. He emphasized that, in today’s highly competitive world, technical knowledge alone is not sufficient to secure a position in leading product-based companies. Students must continuously improve their problem-solving abilities, coding skills, communication skills, and practical knowledge of modern technologies. He also highlighted that Google technologies provide excellent platforms and tools that enable learners to build innovative solutions and prepare for successful careers in the software industry.

The keynote address was delivered by Ms. Navina J. S., Software Development Engineer – I, Steam A, Coimbatore. She explained the differences between product-based and service-based companies and shared valuable insights into the recruitment process followed by top product companies. She emphasized that students aspiring to work in leading product-based companies should understand that these organizations develop and own their own software products, where employees work on designing innovative solutions used by millions of customers worldwide. In contrast, service-based companies primarily develop software or provide services based on the requirements of different clients.

She further highlighted the importance of innovation, engineering excellence, scalability, and problem-solving in product-based companies. She encouraged students to strengthen their data structures and algorithms, coding proficiency, system design fundamentals, and knowledge of Google technologies to improve their chances of securing placements in top product companies. She also motivated students to participate in coding contests, contribute to open-source projects, and continuously upgrade their technical skills to remain competitive in the software industry.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. D. Bharathi, a final-year Information Technology student, expressing gratitude to the management, the Principal, the resource person, faculty members, and all the participants for making the event a grand success. The program concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from the students.
