The Department of Global Affairs, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), through the Global Careers Club, successfully organized an Expert Session on “Exploring International Horizons – Studies and Career” on 31 August 2026 at 11.00 AM. The programme was organized with the objective of creating awareness among students about international higher education opportunities, global career pathways, overseas education options, and the various opportunities available for pursuing academic and professional careers abroad.
The programme commenced with a prayer rendered by D. Kogina and R. Sripriya, IV Year, Pharmaceutical Technology. This was followed by the welcome address delivered by S. P. Subhasree, IV Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, who welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members and students to the expert session.
The programme was presided over by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College. In his Presidential Address, he highlighted the growing importance of international exposure, global competencies and higher education opportunities in preparing students for successful careers in an increasingly interconnected world. He encouraged students to explore suitable international academic programmes, develop the necessary skills and make informed decisions regarding their higher studies and career progression.
The Chief Guest was introduced by E. Rajasri, IV Year, Pharmaceutical Technology. Mr. Dinesh, Senior Executive, Edwise International, Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, delivered the expert session on international studies and career opportunities. He provided valuable insights into various avenues available for students interested in pursuing higher education abroad. The session covered important aspects of overseas education, selection of universities and programmes, career opportunities, and the overall process involved in planning international studies.
The expert interaction provided students with an opportunity to understand the global education landscape and identify potential pathways for their academic and professional development. Students actively participated in the session and gained useful information that would assist them in planning their future studies and careers. The programme also served as an important platform for strengthening the activities of the Global Careers Club and promoting awareness of international opportunities among the student community.
A total of 178 participants, comprising 170 students and 8 faculty/staff members, actively participated in the programme. The participation of students from different academic backgrounds reflected their growing interest in international higher education and global career opportunities.
The programme concluded with the Vote of Thanks proposed by C. Kavipriya, IV Year, Pharmaceutical Technology. The programme was coordinated by the student team, with M. Praveena and C. Kavipriya, IV Year, Pharmaceutical Technology, serving as the Overall Masters of Ceremony.
Overall, the Expert Session on “Exploring International Horizons – Studies and Career” was informative and successful in creating awareness among students about international higher education and career opportunities. The session motivated students to explore global academic pathways, plan their higher studies strategically and develop competencies required for pursuing successful careers in an international environment.
