The Department of Mechatronics organised a guest lecture titled “Automation in Core Industries” on 08.03.2023. It was aimed at disseminating knowledge to students about the basic concept used for automation in Industry 4.0. Welcome address was given by R.Navanidhan, III-MCT. Mr. Mohammed Fareed, Project Engineer, IPCS Global Solutions Pvt. Ltd., Salem was the resource speaker. Naveen V, III-MCT introduced the resource speaker.
In his address, he briefed about the way PLC is used for automating the manual processes. He also explained various details about SCADA, HMI, DCS. He stressed the important skills required to become an Automation Engineer and the higher studies opportunities in this stream. Around 100 students participated in the guest lecture. Queries were questioned and it was clarified by the resource speaker.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Senthamil Selvan. M, III – MCT. The event was organized by Dr.D.R.P. Rajarathnam, HoD/MCT and Miss. C. Sumithra, Assistant Professor.
