Guest Lecture on “Agentic AI for Next-Generation Industrial Applications”

The Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), in association with IIC, CSI, and the Software Development and Information Management Club, organized an online guest lecture on “Agentic AI for Next‑Generation Industrial Applications” on 22nd April 2026 from 11.00 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. through Microsoft Teams. The objective of the programme was to expose students to emerging trends in Agentic Artificial Intelligence and its applications in next‑generation industrial systems, enabling them to understand autonomous decision‑making, intelligent agents, and real‑world AI solutions.

The session commenced with a warm welcome address delivered by E. Rajshree, II CSE C, who graciously welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, and students. This was followed by the presentation of the vision and mission of Paavai Institutions by D. Harini, II CSE B, emphasizing the institution’s commitment to academic excellence, innovation, and industry‑oriented learning.

The Chief Guest Introduction was given by V. Sreenidhi, II CSE D, who introduced the distinguished speaker, Dr. V. Subramaniyaswamy, Professor, Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore, highlighting his academic contributions, research expertise, and experience in advanced AI technologies.

The technical session was handled by Dr. V. Subramaniyaswamy, who delivered an insightful and thought‑provoking lecture on Agentic AI. He explained the fundamental concepts of agent‑based systems, autonomous AI agents, and their role in industrial automation. The speaker elaborated on how Agentic AI is transforming industries such as smart manufacturing, logistics, healthcare, enterprise decision‑making, and intelligent software systems. He also discussed real‑world case studies, future industry requirements, and the growing importance of AI agents in solving complex problems. The session encouraged students to explore research opportunities and innovative applications in AI‑driven technologies.

The lecture was interactive, with students actively participating and seeking clarification on Agentic AI architectures, real‑time implementation challenges, and future career prospects in AI and industrial applications.

The programme was effectively coordinated by Dr. V. Priya, Professor/CSE, and Mr. N. M. K. Ramalingamsakthivelan, ASP/CSE, under the guidance of Prof. Dr. D. Banumathy, Head, Department of Computer Science and Engineering. The event was conducted under the patronage of Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College.

The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by E. Rajshree, II CSE C, expressing sincere gratitude to the management, the guest speaker, coordinators, faculty members, and participants for their valuable support and active involvement. Overall, the programme was highly informative and enriching, providing students with a deeper understanding of Agentic AI and motivating them to pursue advanced learning and innovation in next‑generation industrial technologies.
