The Department of Cyber Security, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous) organized a Guest Lecture on the topic “AI IN CYBER SECURITY” on 22.08.2026 at 2:00 P.M. at Kalam’s Chamber. The session was organized to provide students with insights into the growing role of Artificial Intelligence in cybersecurity and its applications in modern digital environments.
The session commenced with Prayer & Tamilthai Vazhthu rendered by the students, which created a positive and welcoming atmosphere for the event.
The session began with a Welcome Address delivered by A. Suriyakumaran, III Year – Cyber Security, Paavai Engineering College, who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, faculty members, resource person and students.
The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean Academics, Paavai Engineering College, who emphasized the importance of emerging technologies, innovation and continuous learning in preparing students for the rapidly evolving digital era.
Following this, R. Brundha, III Year – Cyber Security, Paavai Engineering College, introduced the Guest Speaker, Mr. S. A. Arunkumar, Management Consultant – Finance & Digital Transformation.
The Keynote Address was delivered by Mr. S. A. Arunkumar, who shared valuable insights into the role of Artificial Intelligence in Cybersecurity. With nearly 15 years of professional experience in digital transformation, process excellence and intelligent automation, he provided students with an industry-oriented perspective on the application of AI and machine learning in modern organizations.
During the session, the resource person discussed how Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning can support cybersecurity activities, including the analysis of large volumes of data, identification of unusual patterns, predictive analysis and intelligent automation. He highlighted the importance of combining technological knowledge with analytical and problem-solving skills to address emerging digital challenges.
Mr. Arunkumar also explained the significance of AI/ML-based solutions, predictive modelling, Natural Language Processing, data analytics and automation in modern digital transformation. His professional experience includes developing and deploying AI/ML solutions across business units and leading large-scale automation and transformation initiatives.
The session also provided students with an understanding of how organizations can use intelligent technologies to improve efficiency, support decision-making and automate repetitive processes. The discussion connected Artificial Intelligence with practical industry requirements and emphasized the importance of developing skills in Python, Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Natural Language Processing, Power BI and automation technologies.
The lecture was highly interactive, with students actively participating in the session and raising questions related to Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, automation, digital transformation and the future scope of AI in cybersecurity. The interaction helped students gain a broader understanding of how emerging technologies are being adopted in professional environments.
