The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology at Paavai Engineering College successfully organized an Industrial Guest Lecture on the topic “Basics of Clinical Trials” on 4th April 2026 at Cute Hall from 10:30 AM to 12:00 PM.
The programme began with a prayer song, followed by a warm welcome address delivered by Ms. Monika, II Year Pharmaceutical Technology student, who welcomed the gathering and briefly introduced the purpose and significance of the session. The event was presided over by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal of Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal.
In his presidential address, Dr. M. Premkumar highlighted the importance of industrial exposure in bridging the gap between academic learning and practical applications. He encouraged students to actively participate in such industrial interactions to enhance their technical knowledge, professional competence, and career readiness.
The Chief Guest, Dr. Gayathri Sivakumar, Founder and Director of Ki3 Private Limited, was formally introduced by Ms. Praveena, III Year Pharmaceutical Technology student. She presented a brief profile of the guest speaker and highlighted her achievements and contributions to the pharmaceutical industry.
The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Gayathri Sivakumar, who provided valuable insights into the fundamentals of clinical trials and their significance in the pharmaceutical and healthcare sectors. She explained the various phases involved in clinical trials, ethical considerations, regulatory requirements, and the importance of maintaining quality and safety standards throughout the research process.
She also shared her professional experiences as an entrepreneur and discussed the role of innovation, research, and technological advancements in shaping the future of pharmaceutical sciences. The speaker highlighted current industry trends, emerging opportunities for young graduates, and the growing importance of startups in the healthcare and pharmaceutical sectors.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. Rajasri, III Year Pharmaceutical Technology student, who expressed her sincere gratitude to the Management, Principal, Chief Guest, faculty members, and students for their valuable support and participation in making the event a grand success.
The event was effectively coordinated by Ms. Kavipriya, III Year Pharmaceutical Technology student, who served as the Master of Ceremony for the programme.
