Guest Lecture on “Composite Nanoparticle-Based Drug Delivery Approaches”

The Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), successfully organized an Online Guest Lecture on “Composite Nanoparticle-Based Drug Delivery Approaches” on Tuesday, 8th September 2026, from 11.30 AM to 01.00 PM, conducted through online mode.

The program commenced with a welcome address delivered by Ms. R.N. Sowbarnika, III Year Pharmaceutical Technology, who warmly welcomed the gathering and highlighted the significance of the session. The event was presided over by Dr. M. Masilamani Selvam, Head and Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal.

During the Presidential Address, Dr. M. Masilamani Selvam emphasized the importance of academic excellence and emerging research areas in pharmaceutical sciences. He encouraged students to actively engage with the topic of the lecture and to broaden their knowledge through expert-led academic interactions.

The Chief Guest was introduced by Mr. R. Dhanush, II Year Pharmaceutical Technology, who presented the profile and academic achievements of the keynote speaker.

The keynote address was delivered by Dr. Ramya Devi Durai, M. Pharm., Ph. D., Senior Assistant Professor, School of Chemical & Biotechnology, SASTRA Deemed University, Thanjavur. She delivered an insightful lecture on composite nanoparticle-based drug delivery approaches, covering the design and fabrication of composite nanocarriers, their role in targeted and controlled drug release, and their growing significance in overcoming challenges associated with conventional drug delivery systems.

The speaker also highlighted recent advancements and ongoing research in nanoparticle-based drug delivery, and encouraged students to explore this evolving field for future academic and research pursuits. The session provided valuable insights into nanotechnology-driven pharmaceutical innovation and broadened the students’ understanding of modern drug delivery approaches.

The lecture was attended by faculty members and students of the Department of Pharmaceutical Technology. The session was interactive, with students actively participating and clarifying their doubts.

 

The program concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Ms. A. Nandhini, III Year Pharmaceutical Technology, who expressed her gratitude to the management, principal, chief guest, faculty members, and students for their support and participation. The event was effectively coordinated by Ms. J.L. Aarthi, Assistant Professor, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, under the guidance of the Convenor, Dr. M. Masilamani Selvam, Head, Department of Pharmaceutical Technology, and the Patron, Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College.

Overall, the online guest lecture was highly informative and successful in enriching the students’ knowledge on composite nanoparticle-based drug delivery approaches, thereby achieving its intended objectives.
