The Department of Information Technology, in association with the Institution Innovation Council and Paavai Entrepreneurship Development Cell (PEDC), organized a Guest Lecture titled “Innovation / Prototype Validation & Value Proposition Fit & Business Fit” on 7th August 2026 at the Cute Hall from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. The programme was delivered by Mr. U. Lokesh, Business Development Manager, Amvion Labs Pvt. Ltd, Chennai.
The programme commenced with the presidential address by Dr. K. Selvi, Dean Academics, who encouraged students to actively participate in academic and co-curricular activities while adopting innovative approaches to achieve their career goals. Ms. Kowsalya J, a Third-Year IT student, welcomed the gathering. Ms. Boomika.S, a Third-Year IT student, introduced the Chief Guest.
During the keynote address, the speaker, Mr. U. Lokesh, provided highly valuable insights into the crucial stages of transforming an innovative idea into a viable business. He explained how prototype validation helps creators test concepts in real-world scenarios before investing in full-scale development. He discussed the core principles of achieving a strong value proposition fit, ensuring that products directly address customer pain points, and establishing a sustainable business fit within competitive markets. The speaker emphasized the importance of business development, market alignment, and entrepreneurial agility, motivating students to focus on market needs.
Furthermore, Mr. U. Lokesh elaborated on the strategic tools required to assess market demand, detailing how early-stage feedback saves critical resources during the startup journey. He highlighted successful real-world case studies of startups that pivoted effectively by matching their product capabilities with evolving consumer expectations. By breaking down complex financial and operational business models into practical steps, he inspired the students to actively look for scalable solutions to everyday problems. He concluded by urging the young innovators to utilize the college ecosystem, such as the IIC and PEDC networks, to incubate their ideas into commercially viable ventures
The programme concluded with an interactive question-and-answer session, where students clarified their doubts regarding startup validation, value proposition design, and business models. Following the session, Dr. B. Venkatesan, Head of the Department of Information Technology, delivered the felicitation address, appreciating the guest speaker for sharing his expertise and commending the organizing team for executing the meaningful initiative.
Nearly 100 students benefited from the guest lecture. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. S. Divya, a Final-Year IT student, marking the successful conclusion of the event. Overall, the programme was highly informative, motivating, and inspiring, encouraging students to think like entrepreneurs and innovate confidently.
