The Department of CSE (Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning) successfully organized an online Guest Lecture on the topic “Image Processing and Deep Learning using CNNs” on 10thFebrury 2026 07:00 pm to 8:00 pm. The session was conducted virtually and witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of the department.
The event featured Dr.V.Karpagam, Prof & Head Artificial Intelligence and Data Science,
Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College, as the esteemed speaker. Drawing the session by sharing his professional journey in the field of Image Processing and Deep Learning, explaining how she explored Convolutional Neural Networks (CNNs) to solve real-world visual data challenges,
The session commenced with a warm welcome address by Mr. Vishwanth.V.D, a Third -year CSE (AI and ML) student, who introduced the speaker and set the tone for the event. Dr.V.Karpagam She highlighted the importance of continuous learning, experimentation, and adapting to rapidly evolving AI technologies.
The session concluded with an interactive Q&A segment, where students actively raised questions and explored various aspects of CNN’s applications and career pathways. The event concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks delivered by Mr. R. Darshan, also a second-year CSE (AI and ML) student, who expressed gratitude to the speaker, organizers, and participants.
It provided students with a deeper understanding of image processing techniques and the practical implementation of Convolutional Neural Networks in real-world applications
