Industrial Visit to ISRO

On 12th March 2026, 100 students from various departments (Agriculture, Aeronautical, Civil, ECE, Biotech, Biomedical, Mechanical, IoT, and CSE) along with 6 faculty members from Paavai Engineering College, visited the ISRO Satish Dhawan Space Centre (SHAR) in Sriharikota, Andhra Pradesh. The team was lead by faculty members from various departments, included G.Sasi (Aeronautical), Dr. K. Sharmiladevi (Head, Civil), Dr. P. Pugalenthi (Mechanical), Satheswaren N (Agriculture), Dr. Arunkumar T (Head, Biomedical), and Dr. A. Vanitha (CSE-IoT).

During the visit, Mr. Kumar from ISRO provided an in-depth tour of the Mission Control Centre and Launch Pad Phase I and II, shedding light on the complexities of rocket launch operations. The students got a firsthand look at the cutting-edge technology and infrastructure fuelling India’s space program.

The visit wasn’t just a sightseeing trip – it was a valuable learning experience that bridged the gap between academia and industry. Students gained insights into ISRO’s internship and project opportunities, learning about the application process and eligibility criteria. This exposure will undoubtedly inspire and motivate them to pursue careers in space research and exploration.
