The programme commenced on 02.09.2026 with Arrival and Registration at 7.30 a.m. All participating members were warmly welcomed, and their attendance was verified by the Trekking In-charge, Mr. P. Prasanna, AP/Aeronautical Engineering. The students were then assembled and briefed about the activities planned for the day.
At 8.00 a.m., the programme proceeded with the Opening and Oath Pledge. The members recited the Trekking Club pledge, emphasizing discipline, unity, safety, environmental responsibility, and respect for nature. The importance of following trekking ethics and supporting fellow participants throughout the activity was highlighted.
The Guest Introduction was conducted at 8.15 a.m. The guests, Mr. Pari Pandian, Architectural Design at Hochtief India and Mr. S.Gopi, Senior Manager at Canara Bank were introduced to the participants, and their achievements and contributions were shared with the members. New members were also welcomed and encouraged to actively participate in the activities of the Trekking Club.
At 8.25 a.m., detailed Instructions and Safety Briefing was provided to all participants. The trekking route and important locations along the trail were explained. Emergency procedures and safety protocols were reviewed to ensure the safety and well-being of all participants. The coordinators also checked the mandatory trekking essentials, including water, trekking shoes, suitable clothing, mobile phones, power banks, ORS/electrolytes, and energy snacks.
At 9.00 a.m., the participants actively engaged in the Communal and Environmental Activities. As part of the club’s commitment to environmental conservation, approximately 10 kg of tamarind (tamarind) seeds were sown in suitable forest areas. This seed-sowing initiative was carried out to encourage natural regeneration and increase students’ awareness of the importance of protecting and developing green ecosystems.
In addition to seed sowing, a Plastic Collection and Cleaning Drive was conducted in the surrounding forest and trekking areas. The students actively collected plastic bottles, wrappers, and other plastic waste discarded in the area. Through the collective efforts of the participants, approximately 26.73 kg of plastic waste was collected and removed from the natural surroundings. This activity created awareness among students about plastic pollution and the importance of maintaining clean and sustainable forest environments.
