NSS General Orientation Programme

The National Service Scheme of Paavai Engineering College organized a General Orientation Programme for all first and second-year NSS volunteers on 17th March 2026. The programme commenced with a prayer song, invoking divine blessings. Mr.K.Devendran, third-year B.E. (CSE-IoT), warmly welcomed the gathering.

The function was presided over by Dr.K.Selvi, Dean (Academics), Paavai Engineering College. In her presidential address, she encouraged the volunteers to engage in social service selflessly and emphasized that such service helps in shaping one’s personality and character.

The chief guest of the programme,

Thiru.V.Kannan, Assistant Director (Retired), Rural Development Department, Namakkal, delivered an insightful and motivating speech. He spoke about the importance of community service, shared his experiences in rural development, and inspired students to actively contribute to society.

An informative presentation was delivered by Mr. C. Rathnakumar, NSS Programme Officer. He explained the history of NSS, its motto, the significance of the NSS symbol and badge, along with its aims and objectives. He also elaborated on the roles and responsibilities of NSS volunteers, regular activities, and special camp programmes.

The orientation programme successfully motivated the new volunteers to actively participate in NSS activities. It instilled a sense of responsibility, discipline, and enthusiasm among the students.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Ms. A. Nasifa, a second-year B.Tech (IT) student, who expressed gratitude to the chief guest, dignitaries, faculty members, and participants.

The presence of Heads of Departments, professors, and faculty members contributed to the grand success of the event. The NSS volunteers from the first and second years participated with great enthusiasm and benefited significantly from the programme.
