The Department of English and Paavai Innovation Forum (PIF), Paavai Educational Institutions, organized a three-day seminar titled Global Careers – Foreign Languages and Certifications from 27.07.26 to 29.07.26 at Pragathi Hall from 9.30 a.m. to 4.30 p.m. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College presided over the function. The programme aimed to create awareness among students about the importance of foreign languages, employment opportunities, career-oriented skills and emerging technologies like Robotics, Drones, Juniper Networks, Medical Technologies.
The sessions focused on German, Japanese and French languages, highlighting their value in the present global job market. Students were made aware that learning a foreign language can strengthen their communication skills, improve employability and provide an added advantage when applying for jobs abroad, particularly in countries such as Japan. The importance of language proficiency and recognized certifications as additional qualifications was also discussed.
The programme was enriched by resource persons including Dr. S. Saravanan, Founder & Chairman, Gateway to Japan, Salem; Prof. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Centre Head, Paavai Innovation Forum and Mrs. S. Parvathy, German Trainer, Namakkal. Their sessions provided practical insights into foreign-language learning, global career opportunities.
N.Lokeshwaran elaborated on ABB AMS Robotic Technology; A.Aarthi on Eduskills; Arulmani S on AMS IIoT; Raj Kumar D on Jet Aerosapce Global Drone Hub; Thendral.V-Juniper Networks; Arun Kumar S on Prashan Medical Technologies; Selva Kumar. P on Hartita TVS and VMC, Edsols and Prosimulator were the centre coordinators who elaborated on the Centres of Excellence, PIF. Their sessions provided practical insights into emerging technologies and skill-based courses. Students were encouraged to develop practical abilities, innovation, problem-solving skills and technological awareness alongside their academic qualifications.
Overall, the seminar successfully motivated students to explore foreign-language learning, certifications, overseas career opportunities and emerging technologies. It promoted the idea that a combination of academic knowledge, language proficiency, certification and practical technological skills can help students become more confident, adaptable and career-ready in a competitive global environment.
