The Department of EEE has organized seminar on “Solar Energy Conservation: Pathways to a Sustainable Future” on 20 August 2026 at Kalam’s Chamber. It was organized with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of solar energy and its role in developing a clean, sustainable, and environmentally friendly future. The program focused on educating the participants about the significance of renewable energy, the working principles of solar energy systems, their applications, advantages, and the need for energy conservation in everyday life. The program also emphasized the importance of combining solar energy utilization with energy conservation practices. Participants were encouraged to use energy-efficient electrical appliances, and smart energy management techniques.
The event began with a warm welcome from Ms. K. Shobika, a final-year student in the Electrical and Electronics Engineering Department. The gathering was addressed by Dr. N. Premkumar, Principal, who highlighted the importance of developing industry-relevant technical and professional skills. The resource person Mr.R.Keerthivasan explained that solar energy is an abundant, renewable, and clean source of energy that can help reduce dependence on fossil fuels.
The session highlighted the importance of utilizing solar power for meeting present energy requirements while protecting natural resources for future generation and making effective use of available solar resources was highlighted. Real-life examples and practical applications of solar energy were discussed to help participants understand how renewable energy can be incorporated into daily life.An interactive session was conducted during the program in which participants actively participated by asking questions and sharing their views. The major challenges in adopting solar energy, such as high initial investment, lack of awareness, space requirements, maintenance, and dependence on sunlight, were discussed.
