Smart India Hackathon 2026

Paavai Engineering College, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC–PEC), organised the “Smart India Hackathon 2026 – Internal Hackathon” on 28th and 29th August 2026 at Cute Hall, Placement Cell – Group Discussion Hall, and Premium Hall.

The external jury members were Mr. Karthik Velusamy, Edsols Innovation Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. Abimanyu M., Edsols Innovation Pvt. Ltd.; Mr. T. Arunprakasam, Founder & Director, TEQResearch Solutions India Pvt. Ltd.; and Mr. Arunkumar Narayanan, CEO, Appzcard Pvt. Ltd., Salem. The internal jury members were Dr. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Centre Head – PIF, Paavai Institutions, and Dr. P. Purusothaman, Associate Professor, Cyber Security, Paavai Engineering College.

D. Subham Kumar Singh, III Year IT, delivered the Welcome Address, followed by the Presidential Address by Dr. R. R. Krishnamurthy, Centre for Research, Paavai Innovation Forum. In his address, Dr. R. R. Krishnamurthy encouraged the students to undertake innovative and practical projects. He emphasized the importance of applying knowledge to solve real-world problems and developing technical skills. He motivated the students to explore new ideas, pursue research-oriented projects, and contribute meaningful solutions to society.

Dr. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Centre Head, PIF, delivered the Felicitation Address. She appreciated the efforts and enthusiasm demonstrated by the participating students. She acknowledged the collaborative spirit of the teams and the guidance provided by the faculty members and mentors. She extended her best wishes to all the participants and encouraged them to continue their journey towards innovation and excellence.

A total of 200 student teams from various departments presented their problem-statement ideas to the jury members and expert panel. The sessions commenced at 10:30 a.m. and featured interactive presentations, during which students demonstrated their creativity and innovative ideas across various sub-themes and categories. The jury members provided valuable feedback and suggestions to help the students refine and strengthen their concepts.

S. Boomika, III Year IT, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, jury members, faculty members, mentors, and students for their valuable contributions and support in making the event a success.
