The Department of Mechatronics Engineering, in collaboration with the Microbytes Innovation Club, organized a technical event titled “Autonex” on August 21, 2026. The event aimed to enhance students’ problem-solving, analytical thinking, creativity, strategic decision-making, and presentation skills through a structured solo competition. A total of 70 students from various departments participated enthusiastically in the event.
The competition was conducted in three rounds. Round 1 was a quiz based on General Knowledge, Science, and Sports, from which 15 participants were shortlisted based on their performance. Round 2 was a Case Study Analysis Round, consisting of 10 case-study-based questions, from which participants were required to choose and answer 5 questions within 15 minutes. The round required participants to analyse practical scenarios and identify the most appropriate solutions, thereby testing their analytical and problem-solving abilities. From the 15 participants, 5 finalists were selected for the final round. Round 3 was a Solution Presentation Round, where the finalists developed and presented solutions for their selected problem statements. The participants were evaluated based on creativity, understanding of the problem, feasibility, social impact, and presentation skills.
Overall, the event successfully enhanced participants’ analytical thinking, problem-solving, creativity, strategic decision-making, and time management skills. It encouraged independent thinking, logical reasoning, innovation, and technical curiosity, while providing a competitive platform for students to demonstrate their ability to analyse real-world problems and develop innovative and feasible solutions.
