The Youth Red Cross of Paavai Engineering College in association with Salem Blood Bank organized a Blood Donation Camp on 11th October 2023 in Visvesvaraya Hall from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. Dr.C.Kavitha from Salem blood bank, Salem was the Chief Guest. The inauguration started with a prayer song followed with welcome address by N.Subiksha from final year Agriculture Engineering. In the presidential address, Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College insisted about the importance of volunteering and blood donation by recollecting volunteering experiences from his college days.
The Chief Guest Dr.C.Kavitha addressed the students and discussed the importance of blood donation, eligibility and requirements of blood donors and it’s impacts and benefits. It was followed with donation of blood by 104 students. The vote of thanks was delivered by R.Swetha from third year Pharmaceutical Technology. Mr.S.Sathish, YRC faculty coordinator organised the camp along with YRC student volunteers. The participants donated the blood as a service to the society.
