Workshop on “Agentic AI – Autonomy, Planning and Tool Use”

The Department of Artificial Intelligence and Data Science organized an online workshop on 04 April 2026 titled “Agentic AI – Autonomy, Planning and Tool Use.” The session was conducted by the expert trainer Mr. K. Suresh Krishna from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

The workshop commenced with an introduction to Artificial Intelligence and its evolution in modern technology. The resource person explained the fundamental concepts of Agentic AI, emphasizing the role of autonomy in intelligent systems. Participants gained insights into how AI agents make decisions, adapt to changing environments, and work towards achieving predefined goals.

The session also explored planning and decision-making mechanisms employed by AI agents to analyze situations and execute tasks efficiently. Furthermore, the significance of tool usage in AI was discussed, demonstrating how AI systems integrate with APIs and external tools to enhance their capabilities and performance.

To provide practical understanding, several real-world applications of Agentic AI were presented, including virtual assistants, autonomous systems, smart applications, and AI-driven automation tools. The workshop offered valuable knowledge on the emerging trends in Agentic AI and its growing impact across various industries.
