Workshop on “Artificial Intelligence Integrated Internet of Things: Concepts, Architectures and Applications”

The Department of CSE (IoT), in association with the Paavai Innovation Forum, organized a one-day workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence Integrated Internet of Things: Concepts, Architectures, and Applications” on 02.04.2026. The workshop was conducted with the objective of enhancing students’ understanding of the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) with Internet of Things (IoT) technologies and their practical applications in modern industries.

The program commenced with a prayer song by the students, creating a positive and energetic environment. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. S. Kaviga from II Year CSE (IoT), who warmly welcomed the dignitaries, resource person, faculty members, and participants. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, delivered the presidential address, emphasizing the importance of AI and IoT in the current technological era and motivating students to actively engage in learning emerging technologies. Prof. Kamala Krishnamurthy, Centre Head, Paavai Innovation Forum, delivered the felicitation address and encouraged students to explore innovative ideas and research opportunities.

The resource person, Mr. Santhosh Jayachandran, Co-Founder and CEO of Petals Automation, Madurai, was introduced by Mr. P. Santhosh Kumar from I Year CSE (IoT). In his session, the speaker provided detailed insights into AI-integrated IoT systems, including system architecture, design principles, and implementation strategies. He explained various real-time industrial applications such as smart homes, industrial automation, healthcare monitoring systems, and intelligent transportation systems. He also highlighted the importance of sensors, data collection, and decision-making using AI techniques.

The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating by asking questions and sharing their ideas. The resource person addressed all queries and provided guidance on project development and career opportunities in the field of AI and IoT. A total of 335 students participated in the workshop and benefited from the knowledge shared during the session.

The workshop enabled students to gain a clear understanding of the concepts and encouraged them to work on innovative projects. It also enhanced their technical skills, problem-solving abilities, and awareness of current industry trends. The students expressed their interest in exploring further research and development in AI-integrated IoT systems.

The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. B. Leka Sushmith from III Year CSE (IoT), who expressed gratitude to the management, resource person, faculty coordinators, and participants for making the event a success. The workshop was organized under the guidance of Dr. M. Rameshkumar, Head of the Department, along with faculty coordinators Mr. S. Sathish and Dr. R. Sivakumar, and student coordinators S. Suryaprakash and R. Vivedha. The event concluded successfully with active participation from students and faculty members.
