The Department of AI and DS, CSE (AI and ML), and the Institution’s Innovation Council jointly organized a one-day workshop on “Workshop on Entrepreneurship and Innovation As Career Opportunity” on 18.08.2026 at Kalam’s Chamber.
Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, explained the importance of this workshop. The Chief Guest Mr. E. Praveen Kumar, AI Solution Architect, CAP Digisoft Solutions, Texas, USA, highlighted the importance of entrepreneurship and innovation in creating new businesses, generating employment, solving societal problems, and contributing to economic development.
The workshop introduced students to the fundamentals of entrepreneurship, innovation, startups, and business opportunities. It helped participants understand how innovative ideas could be transformed into useful products, services, or business solutions. Students were encouraged to observe real-world problems, identify opportunities, think creatively, and develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
The workshop also focused on the process of developing a business idea, including opportunity identification, idea generation, basic market understanding, and customer needs, value proposition, business models, and startup planning. Through interactive activities, discussions, case studies, and practical exercises, students gained exposure to the challenges and opportunities involved in starting and managing a venture.
An important aspect of the workshop was to help students understand the importance of Innovation and Technology in Modern Entrepreneurship. Participants explored how emerging technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Data Analytics, cloud computing, mobile applications, and digital platforms could support innovative business ideas and startup development.
The workshop also provided insights into Entrepreneurial skills, including creativity, communication, teamwork, leadership, decision-making, problem-solving, risk awareness, and adaptability. Students were motivated to develop confidence in presenting and evaluating their own innovative ideas.
Overall, the workshop successfully inspired students to look beyond conventional employment opportunities and consider entrepreneurship and innovation as viable career options. It encouraged them to become creative problem-solvers, opportunity seekers, and future entrepreneurs who could contribute to society through innovative products, services, and sustainable business ventures.
