A one day webinar on the title “Geopolymer Concrete and it’s Applications” was organized by the Department of Civil Engineering, Paavai Engineering College on 01.07.2021. Ms. S.U.Sushmaa, Third year student welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College delivered his presidential address on this event. He addressed to students, about the scope of Civil Engineering as well as its demand in society. Mrs.K.Sharmila devi, Head of the Department introduced the speaker and gave an overview about Geopolymer concrete. Dr.N.Karthiga, Assistant Professor (Senior Grade), Department of Civil Engineering, Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathyamangalam was the guest speaker. She explained about the sustainability in construction industry, Necessity of Geopolymer concrete, Materials used and Geopolymerization process. She also described about the properties of Geopolymer Concrete along with its stress strain behaviour and also its advanced applications in Construction field. Faculty members and students actively participated in the program and the queries from the students and faculties were effectively replied by the speaker. Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by Mr.R.Surya, Second year student and our one day webinar was successfully concluded. The session was very informative and knowledge gainable.
