Analytical Methods and Instrumentation Laboratory
This lab enables the students to gain knowledge about the working principle of various analytical instruments like spectrophotometer, chromatography and electrophoresis used in separation process and in evaluation of drugs with their dosage forms. Students also know about the concept of titration for analysis process.
Chemistry of natural products Laboratory
This lab helps the students to identify bioactive compound from natural sources like plants. Students practice various extraction and purification techniques to separate bioactive molecule having therapeutic value.
Novel Drug Delivery System Laboratory
The lab enables the student to design and evaluate a novel drug delivery system/ devices/ technology. Students also understand the mechanism of targeted drug delivery system and nanotechnology-based drug delivery system.
Biopharmaceuticals and Pharmacokinetics Laboratory
This Lab is concerned with the technological aspects of the design, manufacture of dosage forms and their bioavailability. Students will examine the interrelationship of the drug based on their ADME (Absorption, Distribution, Metabolism and Excretion) properties, dosage form and route of administration.
Molecular Biology and Genetic Engineering laboratory
This lab is used to provide knowledge on the basic concepts of molecular biology and genetic engineering. Students will learn and practice the steps involved in genomic and plasmid DNA isolation from microorganisms. Students will also understand the basic concepts of recombinant technology like restriction digestion, ligation, polymerase chain reaction.
Medicinal chemistry lab
This lab enables the students to understand various standardization techniques of natural products. Students will learn and practice to extract and quantify the different phytochemical based on their characteristic feature.
Technology of Dosage Forms Laboratory
In this lab, students will learn about the basic principles of formulation of liquid, semisolid, solid and parenteral dosage form. Students will practice to prepare and evaluate the dosage forms which help them to formulate new dosage forms.
Bioprocess Engineering Laboratory
The bioprocess engineering lab facilitates the students to understand the enzyme characteristics, kinetics and immobilization process. This lab will also provide knowledge on bioreactor design, optimization studies and enable students to investigate the microbial growth. Students will practice various optimization and purification methods that help them to solve the problem in research field.
Fluid Mechanics laboratory
Fluid Mechanics laboratory is important in the Chemical Engineering curriculum, since in any process industry, storage, handling and transportation of fluids play a vital role. Chemical Engineers are concerned with transportation of fluids (both liquids and gases) from one location to another through pipes or ducts. This activity requires determination of the pressure drop, friction factor through the system and consequently of the power required for pumping, selection of suitable type of pumping device and measurement of the flow rates.
Microbiology Laboratory
It is the important role of a research person to familiarize about the microorganisms. Microbiology lab provides sufficient knowledge to students about the diversity, characteristics features and growth conditions of microorganisms. Students will practice various techniques to isolate, grow, identify various microbes.
Physical Pharmaceutics Laboratory
This lab deals with the use of various physical and physicochemical properties and the basic principles involved in drug formulation. Students will get better insight into various areas of drug formulation and development. Students are made to understand the concept of stability studies of various dosage forms.
