Dr. B. Venkatesan is a Professor and Head of the Information Technology department at Paavai Engineering College (Autonomous), Namakkal. He has been working at the institution since 2007. He has 17 years of experience in the field of technical education. He completed his B.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Muthayammal Engineering College under Anna University and obtained his M.E. degree in Computer Science and Engineering at Paavai Engineering College under Anna University, Coimbatore. He completed his Doctorate in the area of Cloud Computing under the Department of Information and Communication Engineering at Anna University, Chennai.
He published 3 books, 16 articles in international journals, and 22 publications in national and international conferences. He received more than ten merit certificates and gold coins for his achievements in the field of education. He is acting as a reviewer for various journals and as a technical committee member for various international conferences.
He has guided more than 35 UG and PG projects till now. He has received various funds from TNSCST, AICTE, ISTE, and IE (I). He has six filed patents in the fields of the Internet of Things, Cyber Security, Machine Learning, Cloud Computing, and Artificial Intelligence. He is a striving contributor in the field of science and technology by being an active member of many professional bodies like ISTE, CSI, IFERP, I2OR, AICTSD, and IAENG.

In commemoration of Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary, he received the National Award (“Aadharsh Acharya Puraskar”) from the Information Technology Association of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana and Indian Servers for impact creators in engineering education.
