Faculty Development Programme on “Application of Nanocomposite materials”

A One day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Application of Nanocomposite materials” was conducted by department of chemistry, Paavai Engineering College on 06.02.2019 at Cute Hall, Paavai Engineering College. Dr.G.Raja, Head of the Department of chemistry, Paavai Engineering College was the resource person. On the whole, this FDP programme was beneficial to all the faculty members of Chemistry belong to Paavai Institutions. Dr.K.Selvi, Dean Academics, welcomes the gathering and suggested the faculty members to make use of the opportunity to develop their knowledge in new topics.

From this programme, the faculty members learnt the basic concepts of nanomaterials and its applications. Nowadays, nanocomposites offer new technology and business opportunities for all sectors of industry, in addition to being environmentally friendly. In the case of biodegradable polymer-based nanocomposites, recent developments in preparation, characterization and properties, including crystallization behaviour and melt rheology, of both the matrix and the layered (montmorillonite) nanocomposites have been discussed. The session ended up with doubts and questions by our staffs their doubts. N.Vijayanand, ASP/Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks.

Faculty Development Programme onEmerging trends in the development of material characterization

A One day Faculty Development Programme (FDP) on “Emerging trends in the development of material characterization” was conducted by department of chemistry, Paavai Engineering College on05.01.2018 at Cute Hall, Paavai Engineering College.

From this programme, the faculty members learnt the basic concepts of materials and its applications. Nowadays, this method is time-consuming and laborious; it often takes ten to twenty years from design, development, experiment, optimization, and characterization to integration, application, and first time put into the market, which is difficult to meet the needs of the rapid development of industry for new materials. With the development of economy and science and technology, designing materials on demand and accurately controlling materials’ properties have become the development trends of advancedmaterialshavebeendiscussed.Thesessionendedupwithdoubtsandquestionsbyourstaffstheirdoubts.R.Gayathri,AP/Chemistry proposed the vote of thanks.
