Paavai Youth Counseling Forum
The Youth Counselling Forum at Paavai Engineering College is a dedicated platform committed to supporting the mental, emotional, and social well-being of students. It aims to create a safe, inclusive, and empathetic environment where young individuals can express themselves freely and seek guidance for personal and academic challenges. The forum especially supports students from diverse backgrounds, including those facing emotional distress, academic pressure, social isolation, or personal difficulties. By offering counselling services, workshops, and awareness programs, the forum ensures that all students have equal access to support systems that promote resilience, mental wellness, and holistic development.
Objectives of the Youth Counselling Forum:
- Promote Mental Well-being: To foster a healthy campus environment where students feel emotionally supported and encouraged to seek help when facing stress, anxiety, or other personal challenges.
- Early Identification and Intervention: To recognize signs of psychological or emotional distress among students and provide timely counselling and support to prevent escalation.
- Empower Students:To equip students with coping strategies, life skills, and emotional resilience through individual counselling, mentorship, and group sessions.
- Awareness and Sensitization: To organize workshops, seminars, and awareness programs that reduce stigma around mental health and promote emotional intelligence and empathy within the campus community.
- Confidential and Accessible Support: To ensure that counselling services are easily accessible, student-friendly, and maintain the highest standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
Functions of the Youth Counselling Forum – Paavai Engineering College:
- Counselling Support: Providing individual and group counselling sessions to help students cope with academic stress, personal challenges, and emotional well-being.
- Awareness Programs: Organizing seminars and awareness campaigns to educate students about mental health, emotional resilience, and stress management.
- Skill-Building Activities: Hosting essay writing, speech competitions, and interactive sessions that encourage students to express their thoughts, build confidence, and develop communication skills.
- Peer Support: Establishing peer mentoring groups where students can support one another and share experiences in a safe, understanding environment.
