SC/ST Committee
To adhere to the guidelines of Government of India and by following the directions issued by AICTE, the Scheduled Caste (SC) /Scheduled Tribes (ST) Committee is constituted to ensure the continued welfare of the reserved category.
Objectives of the Committee
- To counsel and guide SC/ ST students and help them to manage academic and personal issues of college life effectively.
- To take necessary steps of measuring for ensuring effective implementation of the policy & programmes/schemes of the State and Central Govt. for SC-ST, if any.
- Guide the SC/ST students of the Institute, to optimally utilize the benefits of the schemes offered by the State Governments, Government of India (GOI) and AICTE.
The chairman of SC/ST Committee is happy to constitute the committee with the following members for the Academic Year 2024 – 2025 in our college campus. This committee is responsible to ensure SC/ST students’ academic growth and grievance redressal.

Functions
- To function as a Grievances Redressal Cell for the Grievances of SC/ST students and employees of the institution and render them necessary help in solving their academic as well as administrative problems.
- Students, especially belonging to SC/ST, if they have any issues on the above, may register their complaint either in the SC/ST Cell Committee office. The above Cell will meet once in a month and review all the complaints received and take/suggest remedial measures. Students are hereby requested to lodge a complaint with committee co-ordinator if there is any discrimination based on social origin.
- Analyse information on admissions, promote higher education through various coaching, training and employment of SC/ST, suffering economic, social and educational deprivations.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- The committee serves as an advocate for the welfare and rights of SC/ST students within the institution, ensuring their voices are heard and their concerns addressed.
- It works towards ensuring equal opportunities for SC/ST students in all aspects of academic and extracurricular activities, including admission, scholarships, placements, and leadership opportunities.
- The committee organizes awareness programs and sensitization sessions to educate the broader student community and faculty about the challenges and issues faced by SC/ST students and the importance of inclusivity.
- It provides support services and resources to SC/ST students, such as counseling, mentorship, academic assistance, and financial aid, to help them thrive academically and personally.
- The committee advocates for the formulation and implementation of policies and measures that promote the academic and social advancement of SC/ST students, including affirmative action programs and anti-discrimination policies.
- It monitors the implementation of existing policies and programs related to SC/ST welfare and reports any instances of discrimination, harassment, or injustice faced by SC/ST students to the appropriate authorities.
- The committee collaborates with external organizations, government agencies, and NGOs working in the field of SC/ST welfare to leverage resources and support for the benefit of SC/ST students.
- It focuses on empowering SC/ST students through skill development, leadership training, and opportunities for personal and professional growth.
- The committee promotes cultural diversity and inclusivity by organizing events, workshops, and celebrations that highlight the rich cultural heritage of SC/ST communities.
- It continually assesses the needs and challenges faced by SC/ST students and adapts its strategies and initiatives to better serve their interests and aspirations.
