Paavai Engineering College has established a women welfare committee to empower girl students, to address all issues related to women and to make the college campus a safe place for female students and faculty members.
The main objective of the committee is to motivate,empower women and secure feminine gender. It aims to prevent sexual harassment and to promote general well-being of female students, teaching and non-teaching women staff of the college.
In order to maintain the safety and security of the girls and women, a cell has been constituted for redressal of grievances which ensures equality and protection for women against all forms of harassment and problems faced. During last few years, the difficulties of the girls are settled amicably.Women who have complaints of violation of their rights and non-implementation of their protective measures can directly approach the committee for redressal.All the girl students are given about the safety measures by members of the women welfare committee.
The team organizes health awareness program, solves issues and complaints related to women and counsel them. It works for women welfare, conducts women’s day program, motivates and orient the girl student to identify their strengths, develops multidisciplinary approach for the overall personality development. It also organizes seminars, workshops related to women empowerment and guide women of welfare laws.Sessions by women achievers of different fields are organised to motivate the girl students.
