A one day alumni guest lecture on the topic “Fight the Urban Style of Recruitment” was organized by the department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College, on 09.09.2019. Ms. Monika Isabel, Project Management Offices, Quotient Technologies, an alumnus from the batch 2011 – 2015, was the chief guest of the day. The session started with a prayer song. Mr. U. Bharath of Second year CSE, welcomed the gathering. Dr. M. Prem Kumar, The principal, Paavai Engineering College, in the presidential address, urged the students to learn from environment where one can observe things which could pave way for their fortune. He also told that one should have innovative thinking which improves their knowledge and skills. He said that there are plenty of opportunities for the engineering graduates both at the corporate end and at other domains. He told the students that they should be passionate towards their goal and contribute to all activities that are held at department and college level. Ms. Akila Jetkin, Final year CSE, introduced the guest speaker to the gathering. Following, Dr. Prem Kumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, welcomed the guest by presenting a bouquet. Ms. Monika In her keynote address, introduced 3 P’s namely., Plan, Process, Proceed which a student has to follow all through life. She said that the world is urbanized out and one should get adopted to the scenario prevailing in the environment. She also taught how to attend an interview by mentioning the ways to approach the HR and the recruiter. She covered the topics which includes the answers for the questions, Why one should recruit you?, What is the need of interview?, How will one be fit for a job?. Further, she spoke about three elements which enhance one’s interview performance. Importance of resume was also mentioned by her, Videos were shown relating to etiquettes that one should follow while attending interview. Students got tips to be a professional and got motivated in terms of attending interviews. Finally, there was a questionnaire and feedback session where students shared positive response. Ms. Nithyanandhi, Third year CSE, proposed the vote of thanks. Students and staff members of CSE, were present over the session.
