The Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with the ‘Society of Mechanical Engineers’ organized a webinar on “TRENDS IN HYBRID NATURAL FIBRE COMPOSITES ” on 15.11.2021. The Guest Speaker was from Bannari Amman Institute of Technology, Sathy, Tamilnadu, Dr. T.Ramesh Kumar, Associate Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering and Head – Quality Systems. The Director Administration, Dr. K.K.Ramasamy and the Principal Dr.M.Premkumar supported and guided for the conduct of the program. The webinar was convened by Professor& Head of the Department, Dr.A.P.Sivasubramaniam and co-ordinated by Professor Dr.K.Sundaramurthy and Professor, Dr.V.Subburam. The Welcome address was delivered by Mr.R.DanushMaithraya and the Chief Guest was introduced by Mr.K. Abdullah, both final year Mechanical students. Faculty members and students actively participated in the webinar in large numbers.
Dr. T.Ramesh Kumar clearly explained through PPTs and videos, various aspects of Hybrid Natural Fibre Composites such as types, classification, production methods and application in various fields. The exposure helped students to understand the emergence of Fibre Composites as a replacement of the traditional materials in industries like construction, packaging and others. In the end of the session, there was interaction between the students and the Guest Speaker in which, he answered the questions raised by the students.
All the participated faculty members and students found the program very useful. The final year Mechanical Engineering students, Mr.P.Jayaprakash took care of the master of ceremony andMs. M.Dharshini, delivered the Vote of Thanks.
