The Institution’s Innovation Council in association with the Talent Quest for India has organized a workshop on “Social Entrepreneurship Skills , Attitude & Behaviour Development” on 04.12.2021 from 10.00 a.m. to 1.00 p.m. Mr.G.Ramasubramaniam, Founder and Chief Listening Officer, TALENT QUEST FOR INDIA was the resource speaker.
The workshop started with the prayer song by our students Baby Shruthi and Hasrath from Paavai Engineering College. Then the welcome address was given by Monisha from final year IT, Paavai Engineering College. The chief guest introduction was given by Haritha, Final year Agricultural Engineering. Then our chief guest Mr.G.Ramasubramaniam, Founder and Chief Listening Officer of TALENT QUEST FOR INDIA was honoured by our principal Mr.M.Prem Kumar, Paavai Engineering College with a shawl.
Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal and President of IIC gave his presidential address. In his address, he emphasized the importance of organizing such programmes and also shared his experiences being a volunteer at different stages in his life. He also motivated the young minds to be socially responsible citizens and work for it.
The session was continued with the Chief guest Mr.G.Ramasubramaniam on the topic of Social Entrepreneurship. He interacted with the students about their professional goals and gave some ideas on ‘how to achieve it’. He first explained about “What is social entrepreneurship” and then asked us to spot out the social corruption activities. He also explained the ways to use the social entrepreneurship skills to face those problems. He gave some practical examples of the hidden gems who were unknown to the society and has achieved remarkable success in being a socially responsible entrepreneur. He then explained about the key attributes of a social entrepreneurial mindset and skills to become a social entrepreneur. He questioned us “What’s stopping you from being a social entrepreneur” and then gave “N” number of ideas and opportunities to become a social entrepreneur. He also shared few positive attitude videos towards developing a good society. The session ended with a Vote of thanks from M.Priya from second year Food Technology.
Dr.K.SundaraMurthy, Vice President of IIC, Professor of Mechanical, Dr.R.Mohana Priya, Convener of IIC, Associate Professor of ECE , Mr.S.Sathish, Assistant Professor of ECE, event organiser and TQI coordinator, Dr.P.Pugalenthi, EDC Co-coordinator, Professor of Mechanical, along with faculty members, and around 120 students were present in the workshop session.
