A two day national level technical symposium Techfinix’18 – 2.0 was organized by the departments of Paavai Engineering College on 28th and 29th September 2018. Shri.CA.N.V.Natarajan, Chairman of Paavai Institutions, presided over the inaugural function. Dr.M.Chandrasekar, Vice President, NAFEMS India & Professor, IIT Mumbai, was the chief guest of the day. Dr.G.Ilavazhagan, Director Research, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Chennai, was the guest of honor. Smt. Mangai Natarajan, Correspondent, Paavai Institutions, along with the dignitaries lighted the “Kuthu Vilaku”. Mr. Daniel Ebenezer, Final ECE, welcomed the gathering. Dr.M.Chandrasekar, in his keynote address, stated that the students should transform the societal related issues into technology related solutions. He mentioned about the recent technological platforms including mobile applications like uber, ola where the customers feel transportation easier. And he also spoke about how big data analytics, artificial intelligence, cloud computing and various technologies play vital role in corporate companies, medicine & other industries. Dr.G.Ilavazhagan in his speech, insisted the students about the importance of technological inventions to make the developing nation a developed one. He motivated the students to create jobs rather than seeking jobs. Later on, the Chairman of Paavai Institutions, presented the memento and bouquet to the chief guest and the guest of honor. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director Admin, Dr.M.PremKumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College, Jury members, Deans, Heads of all the departments, Faculty members, students and participants from various colleges attended the inaugural function. Students from various colleges all over Tamilnadu participated in 40+ events like paper presentation, project expo, code debugging, robo war, IC racing, aviation art, trac hunk, chemophilia, brick art work, spunky bit, swell-o-net, blind codding, circuitrix, circuit debugging, water rocketry, robo scoccer etc., on these two days. Dr. Ashwin Nithish, Founder, Breathe Foundation, was the chief guest of the valedictory program. The winners of the events were awarded with prize money of Rs.3,50,000 during the valedictory program. Mr. M. Yuvaraj, Final Civil, proposed the vote of thanks.
