The Department of chemistry had organized an online Guest Lecture on“E-WASTE AND ITS MANAGEMENT”on 09thJune 2022 at 06.30p.m.through the Microsoft Teams platform. The Resource person was Dr.P.Srinivasan Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Kongu Engineering College, Perundurai.The welcome address was given by A.Singadurai from first year MECH and Prof.A.Jeeva, AP Chemistry introduced the resource person .
The objective of organizing the online guest lecture was to create awareness among the students on reducing and handling ways of E-Wastes. The outcome of the webinar is that the students gained knowledge on various treatment methods in E-Waste waste management. They are aware on the sources of E- waste generation globally and nationally, as a potential threat, to the environment. The resources person insists about some of the e-waste may contain hazardous chemicals materials which should be disposed of carefully without causing harm to nature and zero waste management technology for sustainable environment.
Finally, the vote of thanks was delivered by S. Sathiyasudha AP,Chemistry. Faculty members and about 265 students were present in the meeting. The feedback received from the students about the webinar was useful for mankind and waste material elimination.
