National Service Scheme-Youth Red Cross of Paavai Engineering College and Saravana Hospital, Salem jointly organized the Blood Donation Camp on 08.04.22 on the college premises. Dr.S.Ashok, Managing Director, Saravana Hospital, Salem was the guest speaker for the blood donation camp. Ms.S.Sugirtha, B.E. (Agri.), Second Year, Paavai Engineering College, welcomed the gathering. Dr.K.K.Ramasamy, Director-Administration, Paavai Institutions, presided over the function. In his presidential address, emphasized the importance of blood donation in our life. He insisted the students to donate blood at least two times a year.
The chief guest, Dr.S.Ashok, appreciated the college students for their voluntary blood donation. He explained about the importance of blood donation and explained how one should get motivated towards donating blood. He talked about facts, myths and Blood Groups related information.
In the camp, Dr.Manikandan, Salem Blood Bank, Salem, Health Inspectors, Mr.C.Rathnakumar, NSS Programme Officer, Paavai Engineering College and Mr.S.Sathish, YRC Coordinator, Paavai Engineering College were present and they encouraged the students to donate blood. The students of Paavai Engineering College eagerly participated in this camp and donated their blood. Totally 116 students donated their blood. Finally, a Certificate of Appreciation and refreshments were given to the donors as a token of gratitude. The function concluded with the vote of thanks by Mr. M.Abishek Kumar, Third Year B.E. (EEE), Paavai Engineering College.
