The Department of Biotechnology organized a guest lecture on “Translating Science into Strategy: Value Proposition for Sustainable Innovations” on the 11th of September, 2024. The event was convened by Dr. C. Nirmala, Head of the Department, Paavai Engineering College, with Mr. K. Vignesh, AP/BT, as the staff coordinator. The welcome address was delivered by Ms. I. Haarshaa, and the presidential address was given by Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College.
The session was led by Shri R. Anandhasivaraj, Manager of IP & Technology Transfer at AICTE Indovation Centre, Chennai. It began with a prayer song performed by Ms. R. Harini and Ms. U. Bharathipriya, third-year Biotechnology students. Ms. S. Hina Sulthana, a final-year Biotechnology student, provided an introduction to the guest speaker.
Shri R. Anandhasivaraj’s lecture focused on translating scientific knowledge into strategic business applications. His presentation emphasized the role of science and strategy in marketing and business development for entrepreneurship. The session featured interactive discussions, where participants could ask questions and engage with the speaker.
Outcomes of the Event:
The session concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Mr. C. Santhosh, a third-year Biotechnology student. The lecture was attended by over 200 students and provided valuable insights into translating science into actionable strategies for innovation.
