The centre for Foreign Studies organized a Guest Speech on “Motivation towards Higher Education Overseas” on 07.03.2024 at Kalam’s chamber. The program was conducted with an idea of motivating the students to do higher studies in foreign universities, as per their level of financial background/merit and help them to get all the required information beforehand to prepare for education overseas. The guest speakers on that day were Ms. K.Vasuki – Operations Manager and Ms. A.Divya – Client Relationship Manager, both from Payana Overseas Solutions, Erode. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College formally inaugurated the program and spoke briefly about the benefits of overseas education and how it can change the life-style of our students who are financially constrained. He urged the students to utilize the opportunities for the development of their careers.
The guest speakers in their speech provided information about many reputed foreign universities, their selection procedure of international students and the importance of IELTS, TOEFL, GRE, GMAT, Duolingo etc. They also talked about arranging bank loans for foreign studies, getting part time jobs for students to support financially during study period overseas. Further they stressed that Indian students are having good opportunities at present to study in reputed foreign universities and settle there with a lucrative job, if they planned accordingly from the pre-final year. Students should consult experienced people when they plan for overseas studies to get information like status of the university, scholarship offers, cost of education, Passport, Visa and bank formalities, managing expenses and the like, they further said. Moreover they informed that Canada, which is geographically similar to USA, is inviting Indian students for their universities and our workforce to fulfill the shortage in various fields and settle in Canada. The guest speakers used power point presentations and videos to provide visual contents. At the end of the session, they answered all the questions raised by the students.
Dr.M. Raja, Head – Global Affairs was the convener of the program and Dr.K. Sundaramurthy, Head- IQAC along with Dr.V.Subburam, Professor, Department of Mechanical Engineering took care of all the required arrangements for the program.
Large number of third year and final year students from various departments, interested in foreign studies, along with their faculty members took part in the program and found the inputs very insightful, informative and motivating.
