Moodle session conducted at Paavai Engineering College from 21st July 2023 to 31st July 2023 during the academic year 2023-2024. The session was conducted by Dr. D. Banumathy, Professor & Head, Dept of CSE. The session’s cardinal aim was to get all the faculty members acquainted with the features and functionalities of the Moodle learning management system. The objective was to enhance the teaching-learning experience by leveraging the digital platform for course management, content delivery, and student engagement. The Moodle session was conducted for all the departments and was attended by 100 faculty members from Paavai Group of Institutions, including Paavai Engineering College, Paavai College of Engineering, Paavai College of Nursing and Research, Paavai Institute of Allied Health Science, Paavai Physiotherapy Science College, Paavai Polytechnic College, Pavai Arts and Science College for Women, Paavai College of Pharmacy and Research.
The session covered the following key topics: an overview of the Moodle platform, its open-source nature, and its potential benefits in supporting online and blended learning. Participants were guided through the Moodle interface, including the dashboard, course layout, and essential navigation elements.
Faculty members were shown how to create and set up courses on Moodle, including adding resources and activities. The session included demonstrations on uploading course materials such as documents, presentations, videos, and external links. Participants were introduced to the various assessment tools in Moodle, including quizzes, assignments, and grading options. The session involved practical exercises and interactive demonstrations, allowing participants to apply their learning. Participants were actively engaged and asked many questions and clarified their doubts.
