The department of Information Technology, Paavai Engineering College organized an alumni guest lecture on “Opportunities in Functional and Automation Testing” on 16th November 2021 through online mode. Ms.R.Charulatha, Third Year B.Tech/IT welcomed the gathering. Dr.K.Selvi, Principal of Paavai college of Technology, delivered the presidential address on the occasion. She stated that an IT professional need to know about the functional and automation testing. She further insisted that coding, programming and testing plays a vital role in software industry. Ms.K.Paveena from third year B.Tech /IT introduced the chief guest and the floor is handed over to the chief guest Mr.G.Karthikeyan, Senior software test engineer ,Tech Mahindra.
The chief guest highlighted the importance of creating a test plan according to the requirements of application. He also further illustrated the test case scenarios from the perspective of end-users. He explained the procedure of automation of test scenarios using scripts. He shared his experience about the job requirement and how must equip themselves to accommodate in the company. The session was very informative and interesting. Then the floor is opened for the participants for queries. Then the vote of thanks was delivered by Ms.S.Devadharshini second Year / IT.
