A webinar on the topic of “INTELLIGENT BUILDING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND IOT (Internet of Things)” was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering in association with Society of Mechanical Engineers on 23.10.2021 from11.00 AM to 12.00 Noon. Mr.G.SHANMUGAM, BMS Engineer, Farnek Services LLC, Dubai was the Guest Speaker. The Director Administration, Dr. K.K.Ramasamy and the Principal Dr.M.Premkumar supported and guided for the conduct of the program. The webinar was convened by Professor & Head of the Department, Dr.A.P.Sivasubramaniam, Co-ordinated by Professor Dr.K.Sundaramurthy and Co-coordinated by Professor, Dr.M.Makesh.The Welcome address was delivered by Mr.G.Sabarinathan, and the Chief Guest was introduced by Ms.S.Anumithra, both Third year Mechanical students. Faculty members and students from different branches actively participated in the webinar.
Mr.G.SHANMUGAM explained how internet of things (IOT) is used for Building Management and Energy Saving Systems by remote controls and automatic monitoring of the facilities through Intelligent Safety Systems such as Closed-Circuit Television, Card Access Control, Smoke detection, Emergency control of elevator, doors, HAVC system along with Data Access Security. In the end of the session, he answered the questions of the participants.
All the participated faculty members and students found the program very useful. At the end, Mr. M.Karthikeyan, third year mechanical engineering student delivered the Vote of Thanks.
