A guest lecture was conducted on behalf of the departments of Computer Science Engineering and Information Technology titled “PYTHON PROGRAMMING FOR PROBLEM SOLVING”. The chief guest was Mr.V.Kumar, Technical trainer, C-Cube technologies, Coimbatore. The session started with the prayer song. Welcome address was given by K.Akila Jetkin from third year CSE. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal , Paavai Engineering College gave his presidential address. He addressed the students by saying that the opportunities for students community is plenty and the students should equip and get trained to new innovations. He motivated and encouraged the students to orient their minds to cope-up with new technical ideas. Ms.Ankita Sreekumar of third year CSE introduced the chief guest Mr.V.Kumar, Technical trainer, C-Cube technologies, Coimbatore to the students. In his keynote address, he mentioned about the importance of python at the multinational giant corporates like Google, Facebook, etc., which recruit engineers who have knowledge in machine learning, data analytics, and artificial intelligence. Dr.A.Suphalakshmi, Head of CSE Department presented a bouquet and Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College presented the memento to the chief guest. The Guest speaker began the session with a question “What made python grow more faster?”. The student participants came with their ideas and answered the question. He described that all the corporate sectors have moved towards cloud services. Gender prediction and face recognition using python was demonstrated during the session. He also said about the platform called freelancer (web design , mobile app development, virtual assistance, product manufacturing and graphics design) from which one can earn lot of money sitting at home . Finally, the student participants filled their feedback forms. The guest lecture ended with vote of thanks by Mr.Revanth Kumar from second year CSE.
