On behalf of Department of Agriculture Engineering, Paavai Engineering College organized a one day Guest Lecture on “Surface Drainage System to alleviate Water logging Problem” on 15th May, 2022. Dr.Vivekanandhini, Head of the Department, Dr P Tamilchelvan, Professor Jointly organized and coordinated the entire event. The entire gathering were welcome by HOD Mam. Dr.M.Premkumar, Principal, Paavai Engineering College has delivered his presidential address. Dr. M. Punitha, working as an Assistant Engineer, in the Department of Agriculture Engineering in Hosur was the guest of the honor. She explained in her presentation about the surface drainage systems that can be adopted to alleviate the water logging problem in agricultural lands, also explained about her projects and its importance. She offered an opportunity of taking her project as a base for our future projects. She inculcate the ideas about the experimental layout of subsurface drainage system and also about how the installation of SSD system is done. She explained about the various types of surface drainage system such as random drain system, parallel field drain system, parallel open ditch system and bedding system and it is applicable in our day-to-day life to alleviate the problem. They also suggested that students to develop employability skills, academic skills, personal attributes and knowledge about how organizations work. Faculty members and students enthusiastically participated in the program. The vote of thanks was delivered by Sowndharya.S.S, Third Year /B.E. Agri. The session was very instructive and motivating.On queries she gave the valuable information about the various water logging Problems and how to allivaite those. Nearly 278 students attended in this event in online Mode and gained knowledge about the water logging Problems.
