Paavai Engineering College has the potential to redefine English Language practices to faculty and students for the benefit of the learning community. And now, as a token of appreciation for the dedication and commitment to teaching English, the British Council has certified Paavai Engineering College as British Council Advantage Member for Cambridge English Qualifications. Duncan Wilson, CEO, BC Education India distributed the credentials to the facilitators at Advantage Partners Meet 2023 on 19th April 2023 in Vivanta by Taj, Coimbatore.
In Advantage Patners meet, a session was conducted on the topic, ’Improving Interpersonal Communication’. The benefits of interpersonal communication, communication barriers, core skills of interpersonal communication like verbal skills, body language skills, vocal skills and listening skills were discussed.
The English department of Paavai Engineering College is conducting the Business English Certification (BEC) course offered by University of Cambridge, London, continuously since 2010. The faculty members have earned the necessary credentials to serve as efficient BEC trainers through the Teacher Support Programmes. Overall, the English department with right spirit and attitude has so far led the way and helped 36 batches of nearly 2,300 teachers and students to obtain the BEC Preliminary and BEC Vantage certificates.
In the days ahead, hopefully, we’ll have more success in collaboration with British Council for conducting APTIS. Aptis is an innovative and global English assessment tool of the British Council which is an accurate, reliable, and flexible method of testing English Language Proficiency. Aptis scores are mapped to CEFR (Common European Framework for Reference) so, it can be easily compared with any other leading English tests conducted worldwide.
