The Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering (ECE) organized an Alumni Guest Lecture titled “Key Skills for a Successful Global Career” on February 21, 2025.
The welcome address was delivered by Ms. G. Subashree, a third-year ECE student. Dr. M. Premkumar, Principal, delivered the presidential address, where he appreciated the alumni speaker and encouraged students to actively participate and make the most of the session. Ms. E. Vindhiya, a third-year ECE student, introduced the alumni speaker.
The guest speaker, Ms. Durga Prabhakaran, Team Member at Front of House, Wilson Vale, Birmingham, UK, shared her valuable insights on job opportunities and career advancement. She emphasized the crucial skills necessary for professional success, particularly soft skills such as networking, adaptability, and effective communication. Throughout the session, she provided guidance on essential competencies that students should develop to enhance their career prospects.
The session was highly engaging, with active student participation. Ms. Durga Prabhakaran shared her personal experiences and provided practical career development advice, helping students gain a deeper understanding of workplace expectations and the importance of professional skill-building.
Approximately 100 students attended the event. The vote of thanks was delivered by Ms. S. Sandhiya, a third-year ECE student.
The event was successfully organized under the guidance of Dr. R. Mohana Priya, Associate Professor & Head, ECE. The Alumni Coordinators, Mr. S. Loganathan, Department Alumni Coordinator, and Mr. S. Sathish, AAC Coordinator, along with the faculty members of the ECE department, attended the session.
