Paavai Engineering College, in association with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC-PEC), organized the “Smart India Hackathon 2024 – Internal Hackathon” on 6th September 2024 at Cute Hall, Placement Cell – Group Discussion Hall, and Premium Hall. The external juries were Mr. S. Gowtham, EDII-TN Dharmapuri District Coordinator; Mr. G. Vasudevan, EDII-TN Namakkal District Coordinator; and Dr. A. Abdul Kathar, EDII-TN Salem District Coordinator. The internal juries included Dr. G. Madasamy Raja, Professor of IT; Dr. M. Raja, HoD of AI & DS; Dr. R. Mohana Priya, HoD of ECE & IIC Convenor; and Dr. B. Venkatesan, HoD of IT. The juries motivated young minds to develop innovative and technological ideas.
Dr. R. Mohana Priya, HoD of ECE and IIC Convenor, delivered the welcome address, followed by a presidential address from the Principal, Dr. M. Premkumar, who encouraged students to launch their ventures and pursue their goals. He wished success to all participating teams in advancing to the next level.
A total of 90 student teams from various departments presented their project ideas to the jury and experts. The sessions, which began at 10:00 a.m., were interactive, with students showcasing their talents across different sub-themes and innovation categories. The jury provided valuable suggestions for refining the concepts. Dr. B. Venkatesan, HoD of IT and SIH’24 SPOC, proposed the vote of thanks. The event offered a rich learning experience, helping students understand various social issues in alignment with industrial standards. Around 50 of the 90 teams were shortlisted for the next level.
