Alumni guest lecture titled “CARRIER GUIDANCE” on 11.03.2023 organized by the Department of Mechatronics, Paavai Engineering College, Namakkal.
It was aimed at providing awareness to students about the expectations of Industries. Welcome address was given by Finny Babu, III-MCT. Mr. Suraj K Raghavan, Assistant Manager, Panasonic India Pvt. Ltd., Bangalore and Arjun P, Administration Incharge, Jupitar Speciality Medical Centre, Dubai were the resource speakers. Kamalesh.N, III-MCT introduced the resource speaker.
Mr. Suraj K Raghavan explained about the statistic on the current employability status of engineering students. He highlighted the growth of IOT, Machine Learning, Industry 4.0, which has increased demand for fresh engineers. His talk also focused on the recent industry trends in core engineering field. He listed down more than fifteen roles/designation currently being practiced in the core companies; their skill set requirement, companies name, job responsibilities etc. and explained the career growth ladder.
Arju P briefed about the various job opportunities for mechatronics engineer in foreign countries especially in medical field. He also focused on the industries expectations from freshers and what are the additional skills to be required.
Around 100 students participated in the guest lecture. Queries were asked and it was clarified by the resource speakers.
The session ended with a Vote of Thanks by Buvnesh.R, II-MCT. The event was organized by Dr.D.R.P. Rajarathnam, HoD/MCT and Mr.R. Arunbabu, Assistant Professor.
