A Guest Lecture on ‘DESIGN AND ANALYSIS OF MECHANICAL COMPONENTS’ was organized by the Department of Mechanical Engineering and Resource club on 11.08.2023.
This online guest lecture imparts basic knowledge on design and analysis techniques behind the various mechanical components. The resource person was Dr.G.Saravanakumar ASP-MECHANICAL/BMSCE, Bangalore. He is a renowned academician who is working on industrial problems.
The Principal, in his presidential address urged the participants to utilize the opportunity to update their knowledge in the domain of design and analysis of many mechanical components as this would be the base for solving industrial problems in the future.
The speaker Dr.G.Saravana Kumar begun his lecture by explaining the basic problems and the way of solving them by technically while designing a component. He in his lecture gave a brief outlook about bearing design and analysis and the recent advancements in bearings. It includes design of foil bearing which would be widely used in aerospace technologies hereafter.
The Guest lecture was interesting, informative and interactive. The sessions were beneficial to the participants which was clear from the enthusiasm they expressed during interactions. The session came to an end with the vote of thanks.
