“REALIZATION OF INTERNET OF THINGS FOR SMART APPLICATIONS”, a Hands-on workshop was organized by the Department of Computer Science and Engineering, Paavai Engineering College on 16.08.2018 and 18.08.2018 in Cute Hall at 10.00 A.M. The Workshop started with the prayer song. Dr.A.Suphalakshmi HOD/Department of Computer Science and Engineering presided over the function. While delivering the Presidential address, she insisted the students to acquire knowledge about Internet of things so that it will be useful for doing the mini project and she also insisted the importance of IoT Project and research. L Srimathi final Year Student welcomed the gathering. The resource person Mr.S.NAVEEN, Senior Project Manager, Pantech ProEd Pvt Ltd, Chennai elaborated on the Smart application of IoT, importance of mini project and application of Internet of Things. He spoke about the technologies used in Internet of Things and assured the students that they can do the project on their own. At the end of the session, the students were enlightened with valuable thoughts. They made a good interaction with the resource person which helped them to enrich their knowledge on the Internet of Things for smart applications. The Students were given demonstration on how to use Arduino Kit, Raspberry PI and different type of sensors for executing the projects. The Students worked on the following Projects such as: 1. Automatic Lighting System 2. Automatic Smart building project using raspberry PI 3. Temperature monitoring The Faculty members and students of CSE, IT and MCA were present in the session and the session ended with a vote of thanks proposed by our Final year student.
